So many like-minded potential classicists live with a fear inborn in architecture school and intellectual circles. It is a fear of appearing to be stupid and to boot to have the 'bad taste' enough to actually 'like' the Baroque. You mention Guggenheim Bilbao and they say, "It's great." I ask "What's so great about it?" They can't tell you and they are profoundly shocked when you say provocatively, "It's just a piece of junk." but they can never argue a case why it is not a piece of junk. Instead they say to you, "Oh come on, just because it is not classical."
