Haymarket Opera company, small wonder
Congratulations to Craig Trompeter and Ellen Hargis for bringing Marc-Antoine Charpentier's La Descente d'Orphée aux Enfers marvelously back to life in Chicago; and to Russell Wagner, maker of cellos, periaktoi, and beautiful music. It was an absolute joy of a collaboration, and maybe only in Chicago could such serendipity happen. Some photos, for flavor....
